In addition to the holidays listed above, each regular Full-Time and Part-Time employee will receive one floating holiday each year, beginning on January 1 of the year following the date on which the employee became regular. This floating holiday must be taken in the year in which it was granted.

All Full-Time exempt employees are immediately eligible for holiday pay upon hire.

All Full-Time Hourly and/or non-exempt must do the following to receive holiday pay:

  1. work for Motivate at least 90 days prior to the holiday.
  2. work your scheduled days before and after the holiday.

For all Part-Time non-exempt employees who are regularly scheduled for at least twenty four (24) hours of work per week will be paid based on the number of hours the employee is regularly scheduled to work on the day of the week on which the holiday falls. Employees who agree to work a longer or shorter shift on the holiday will receive pay for the amount of time for which he/she/they are scheduled only. If the average weekly hours in their profile is less than 24 hours they will not be paid for the holiday.

Seasonal, on-call/casual and temporary employees are not eligible for holiday pay.

If scheduled to work a holiday, an eligible full-time and part-time employee will be paid their regular rate for the time worked plus holiday pay for the hours scheduled.

Corporate Salaried Employees: When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday will be the official observed paid holiday, and the office (both actual and virtual) will be closed. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday will be the official observed paid holiday, and the office (both actual and virtual) will be closed.

Operations Salaried Employees: As we are a 365/24/7 operation, not all operational managers will be able to take off for all holidays.  Management teams should work together to ensure coverage for both holidays, both official and observed. If you are unable to take off a regularly scheduled day on either an official or observed holiday, you will be offered comp time, equal to 8 hours of pay. Comp time will not be lost if not used in the year it is given. This should be requested by your manager through a PHD ticket. These hours can be utilized at any time throughout the remainder of the year. (Note: Comp Time given for the Christmas holiday will be added for the following year).
