In the Dayforce Getting Started module, where all new hires will first interface with Dayforce, there is a Meet the Team section that includes a picture and short biography of a new hires manager, team and direct reports (if applicable). The bio may be a new hire's first opportunity to learn a little more about the people they will be working with. Welcoming new employees and making them feel like a part of the team from the beginning is foundational for a positive work experience.

Tips on writing a bio

  • An easy way to start is with your name and how long you’ve been with Motivate and little bit about what you do.

  • One option is to use the third person narrative (as in the sample below)

  • Aspects you may want to include

    • Where you were born

    • Your educational or professional background

    • Something you really enjoy about your job

  • If you would like, perhaps something personal such as your favorite hobby, types of movies/music you like best, or other information

Here is a sample bio:

She provides Human Resource support for bike share in Boston, Columbus, Minneapolis and Portland. In her free time she enjoys gardening, cooking, walking the dog and exploring the city by bike.
