Similar to the process of adding a vehicle to Motivate's fleet, removing a vehicle from the fleet (a.k.a de-fleeting the vehicle) requires removing the vehicle from multiple digital tools and following multiple processes to ensure all possible materials are removed and/or recovered appropriately.


  1. Remove the vehicle's insurance by filling out this form, which notifies the Administration team.
  2. Remove the following items from the vehicle
    1. Geotab 
    2. NFC tap 
    3. Phone holder 
    4. Binder/Folder 
    5. Toll collection system equipment (e.g. Fastrak, EZ Pass) 
    6. Fire extinguisher and holder 
    7. Market name magnets and safety magnets/stickers from the side and rear of the vehicle 
    8. Scrape off local market identifier letters and numbers from the front windshield and rear door of the vehicle 
    9. For Battery Swap vehicles: Vermiculite bucket
    10. For Service Delivery vehicles: Cones, bungee cords and ratchet straps
    11. Remove both the front and rear license plates 

  3. Archive the vehicle in Fleetio following these steps.

  4. Archive the vehicle in GeoTab following these steps

  5. Terminate the vehicle's WEX card online (following these steps) and shred the physical card

  6. Email Lyft (tbs-ops-vehicles@lyft.com) and provide the following information:
    1. The address where the vehicle is located
    2. Current mileage of the vehicle
    3. The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
    4. Contact Information, including phone number, of who can help schedule a pick-up

  7.  Email Lyft separately from above (tbs-ops-vehicles@lyft.com) and provide the gollowing information:
    1.  The VIN
    2. The SIM and IMEI numbers of the Geotab that was in the vehicle
