Painting Ramps to Reduce Slip Risks

To reduce slip-and-fall risks, ramps must be painted every 18-24 months with Herculiner paint. Follow the below steps when painting the ramp to reduce slip risks:

  1. Clean the ramp thoroughly, removing all old ramp tape and any previously applied adhesives.

  2. Wash the ramp to remove all dirt, dust, grease, and debris.

  3. Allow the ramp to dry completely before applying any coating. Before you start to apply the paint, please ensure you have the following equipment.
    1. Gloves, Mask, Drop Cloth, Stir Sticks, Paint Brush

    2. Paint the ramp outside or near an open warehouse door to ensure proper ventilation.

    3. Thoroughly stir the Herculiner paint to fully activate and evenly mix the product.

  4. Apply the first coat of Herculiner paint evenly across the entire ramp surface.

  5. Allow the first coat to dry for a minimum of 6 hours.

  6. Apply a second coat of Herculiner paint evenly.

  7. Allow the ramp to cure for a minimum of 12 hours before placing it back into service.
